Yeah, I was planning on commenting more but the new commenting system is weird. I have to be logged into Facebook or Wordpress or something? Pass.
I'll ignore your dig at Marina, except to note that in deliberately not joking about Melissa Marsala's career out of misguided spite, you missed an opportunity to follow up on the gag you made in the "Holy Night" post, where you chastise Toby Ziegler for having a known associate of Tony Soprano as a rabbi; this, of course, is a reference to his rabbi in "Take This Sabbath Day" being played by David Proval, who played Richie Aprile on The Sopranos, and whose daughter Kelli was played by... Melissa Marsala.
Way to deny your audience a joke!

This may shock you, but there are a lot of actors who appeared on both The West Wing and The Sopranos. They were the two biggest prestige dramas of the early 2000s, and every aspiring actor wanted a piece of the pie.
Also, I changed the commenting system last week. You no longer need to log in. You don't even need to enter a username (although I recommend you do, since I'd rather not have every comment be labeled "Anonymous").

So, I just tried a leave a comment on the "Access" review without logging in, and it didn't work either time I tried it. I was only able to post it by logging into my Wordpress account.

Okay, I think I've fixed the problem. Apparently, the site was set to hold new comments (without an account attached) for admin moderation. I've changed the settings, so that should no longer be an issue. Comment away!

Hey, it's the guy from I Married Dora! I've got the perfect joke to make about - Wait. Wait, wait, wait. It's been cancelled. "Talking Points" is now reviewed.

Say, Jeremy; with your recent "Access" review, I was wondering, what are your thoughts on other "documentary"-style special episodes in TV? In my Babylon 5 rewatch, I just came across a really good one that underscores what I said in the comments of the "Access" review; they can work well when they're properly constructed around letting us understand how the public views the cast rather than trying to give us insight into the regular characters, which is what the normal episodes are for. I know Farscape and Battlestar Galactica did something similar, I'm sure there are others outside the domain of sci-fi as well.

I think documentary episodes can make for an interesting change of pace, so long as they either add something to the text, or are just plain entertaining. BSG's doc episode was an example of the former, while Homicide: Life on the Street did an example of the latter. (Fittingly titled "The Documentary.") Buffy arguably did an example that was both insightful and entertaining in "Storyteller."
They tend to be at their worst when the documentary itself is the spine of the episode, rather than a means to achieve any deeper insight. This can be evidenced in two of the worst documentary episodes ever - West Wing's "Access" and ER's "Ambush." (John Wells should probably stay away from the genre.)

After he was fired from the Baltimore PD, Mike Kellerman got an undercover job in LA. When things went south, he was forced to fake his own death, after which he became a doctor in Washington, DC. Why does he change identities so much? Probably because he also works for the Dollhouse. "No Exit" is now reviewed.

Donna has had some bad boyfriends in the past, but Lucius Malfoy has got to be a new low. "Gaza" is now reviewed.

Don't trust that informant, Josh! He gave Carrie and Brody sooo many headaches... "Memorial Day" is now reviewed.

I'll be kicking off Season Six shortly. Though between schoolwork and holidays, I don't know if I can keep up a regular schedule.
In the meantime, for those of you who still doubt The West Wing's power to predict the future, Kid Rock may be running for Senate. If you don't know why that's significant, you clearly don't know Kid Rock's real name.

I guess he's going to barely make any public appearances and his policies will be a total mystery, then.

Quiara, the music references on Cougar Town are less obscure than yours.
I don't know how that's possible, but they are.

Quiara, the music references on Cougar Town are less obscure than yours. I don't know how that's possible, but they are. That was a literary reference, not a musical one. I doubt you've heard of it-- some old book written in Hebrew. There's a handful of decent translations.
