So, HD remakes of classics have been a thing lately. Sometimes they're just graphical overhauls (the Gamecube Resident Evils), sometimes they're graphical overhauls with severely reduced features! ( Heroes III ), and in this case, well, there's this. Blizzard is remastering StarCraft in 4K resolution this summerThe early returns certainly don't look that bad and it seems to be geared towards improving the multiplayer experience on the original game. I was never much for that (talk to MJ if you want opinions on the subject), but I did feel, nostalgia goggles or not, that the gameplay of the original and the limited plotting held up better than Starcraft II, of which I've often said that the campaigns were so bad in Heart of the Swarm that I had to give myself the handicap of being drunk just to tolerate the storytelling and limited demands of gameplay. Maybe doing this will teach them how to make an RTS again...

Looks good. I'm a little salty towards HD remasters of RTS games after Age of Empires II: HD Edition was such a complete dissapointment. However, this is Blizzard so I assume this will actually be an upgrade.

Well, Legacy of the Void was released in late 2015, so a year and a half ago or thereabouts.

If I'm understanding this correctly, the original version is being released for free as well! That's nice.
