And this is after they hired a chronic abuser to "fix" Justice League. A+ work all around. Ezra Miller really read that Vulture piece about JW and said "hold my beer." Yep, Whedon has almost been one-upped.
On the topic of Whedon, Waiting in the Wings is very strange now that the lid's been blown open on him. A genuinely beautiful story about performers escaping abuse....written by a Hollywood guy who abused his performers (and writers, and anybody who had the misfortune of working for him).

I read that Vulture article when it was published, and came away feeling more icked out by Whedon than before. Guessing that's the common reaction? ( Here's the piece, for those who missed it.) On the subject of the cancelled Batgirl movie, it seems to be less exclusively a problem with DC itself and more a problem with HBO Max being stuck in some weird limbo between Warner Bros. and Discovery following their recent merger. HBO Max may soon be moving away from original scripted films (and maybe original scripted shows?) as the new bosses want to shake things up. Batgirl was among the more glaring casualties, as WB was apparently too embarrassed to put it in theaters, and its potential streaming home now has bigger issues to contend with.
