In here, Alyson and Amber talk about Tara and Willow and how Amber found out about Tara dying. ew.com/tv/2017/03/31/buffy-reunion-tara-death/What about you? What did you feel about her dying? There are some people out there who still dislike how they killed off Tara.

I was shocked and saddened when it happened as I liked Tara. However, I never got into the relationship between Willow and Tara even though it would become the longest one in the Buffyverse. I always had a spot for Willow/Oz. Even during the re-watching I smile when Oz and Willow keep passing each other during season two before they know who each other is and the end of 'Wild at Heart' still gets me more than Tara's death. Even the end of 'New Moon Rising' gets more feelings than Tara's death.
I liked what they did and can believe the Willow/Tara bond....... just not as much as Willow/Oz. And about the death, there was many ways to do it and it did end up being a catalyst for Darth Willow which at the time made some people go off on the show thinking it was doing something it clearly wasn't. Was Tara's death just to make Willow's magic arc go dark? Was she just killed for the sake of another characters storyline? Probably. But then, most characters are killed just for the storyline of another characters vengeance arc.
I didn't expect to write that much. Basic answer: I was sad when Tara died.

I don't want to weigh in on Oz vs. Tara. They're both great.
But I greatly appreciated the follow-up to Tara's death in Season 7. There were lots of dropped balls w/r/t the events of "Seeing Red" but everything involving Tara in Season 7 was pitch perfect.
Yes, even "The Killer in Me." Is that an unpopular opinion? It's not an all-time great or anything but it's spectacular in what it does with Willow and Tara (and Kennedy...)

Was there that much follow-up? I agree what they did was very good, but it still feels like there should have been more. I don't like "The Killer in Me", specifically because of Kennedy. It took Willow a while to fully get over Oz, because Tara was just that special. I bought that, but I don't buy her and Kennedy, so the whole thing feels unsatisfying to me, both Willow moving on from Tara's death and her relationship with Kennedy.
I agree with Nathan. I was sad when she died, but it didn't hit me like a truck the way Buffy's did in "The Gift", or even Jenny Calendar in "Passion", though that's probably because both the aforementioned episodes are much better written than any Willow/Tara heavy episode, rather than the character or Amber Benson's performance.

I agree "Killer in Me" has some flaws but I like what it does to Willow and the last scene is heartbreaking.
But I always assumed Kennedy was more of a rebound than a serious relationship.
