So, I just finished season four of House a few days ago and although the finale was pretty good (it was the first time crying on House, btw), season four was pretty inconsistent, mainly the second half. And I realized most of the reason is.... because of House! He is turning into someone insufferable but it got me thinking that the show wants House to be right all the time and it wants us to root for them. Even if he isn´t right, I feel the episodes always find a way for him to be right. And that is what pisses me off.
But not only House. I think Veronica Mars season 3 suffers from that, too. Most of the times, she´s wrong, mostly in her treatment of Logan, but the show is always, always finding ways for her to be right.
For now, I can only think of these two examples but I bet there´s other cases like this.
Do you feel this way about a character or a show?

Every character on The Newsroom. Every. Single. One.
"Self-righteous" doesn't even begin to describe the people on that show.

OMG, the characters in Newsroom are just horribly written. And yes, much more than self-righteous. The whole show is just preachy.
I also remembered another character: Ted Mosby from "How I Met your Mother". The guy starts out likeable but by season 5, he starts becoming a huge asshole and the show is just okay with it. In fact, they keep telling us "root for this guy" although he keeps on making the worst mistakes possible.
