I got through the first two Trials of the Sword last weekend, then failed to beat the last one after trying a couple times. They're really fun, I wish more of the game was like that, combat-wise. I still have a bunch of side quests left, but I'm about burned out on the game at this point. I think I'm going to shelve it until the next wave of DLC comes out.
Arms is pretty good, though for a multiplayer game, it's kind of non-intuitive and really takes some practice to understand how it works. That's not bad by any means, but it's certainly not a pick-up-and-play party game like Mario Kart or Smash. Like Pikmin multiplayer, you kind of have to play it with people who have already spent some time playing the game on their own.

That last stretch of Trials is really tough: I haven't beaten it either. And yes, the combat certainly requires more strategy than in the traditional story mode. That said, you can also sink a lot of time into it and, if you fail, get absolutely nothing for your trouble. So, as efficient-time-mangement-in-gaming goes, it can be quite frustrating.
And looking back, I think perhaps limiting the number of inventory slots for cooked meals probably would've mitigated the virtual low-stakes invincibility you encountered in the game proper.

Mind you, no other 3D Zelda game features random enemies that can knock eight-to-twelve hearts off your life meter with one swing. And those bloody Lynels. But, yeah, they hedged a bit too much in the favour of less-skilled players this time, with the inventory.

But, yeah, they hedged a bit too much in the favour of less-skilled players this time, with the inventory. This is why I don't have a problem with it. If they limited the food slots, it would take away from the 'you can literally go anywhere' aspect of the game that they advertised. There would be certain places that you couldn't go simply because of the damage the enemies inflict. The way they did it, you can kill a Lynel with three hearts and minimal armor, which was awesome.

I don't know about that. If you've got three hearts (or even six, with a food upgrade), one hit from a Lynel will take you out. About the only thing that'll save you is having a few fairies in your back pocket.

Anyone interested in Morphite? It looks promising.

I'm not really on top of anything but first-party Nintendo titles. Though it looks like the Switch may have some actual third-party support, which is nice.
I guess Nintendo is going to reveal new details about Mario Odyssey on Wednesday. I think it's pretty much been confirmed that there are at least ten kingdoms...
Metro Kingdom Sand Kingdom Luncheon Kingdom Wooded Kingdom Cap Kingdom Seaside Kingdom Lake Kingdom Mushroom Kingdom Snow Kingdom Cascade Kingdom
...but I'm hoping for at least twelve. Mind you, if they all have day-and-night cycles, that pretty much doubles the content anyways.
So, Zarnium, is your Wii U still packed away? Cuz you never got around to playing that Mario Maker Stiletto Stomp sequel of mine. It's no big deal either way...I was just curious.

Oh, right... my Wii U is all hooked up, I just forgot about your stage! I'll try to get to it soon.

Thanks for playing it. I haven't produced anything since then, because I've been busy with other games and TV shows, and the level-promoting process is too much of a chore.

Nintendo announced that they will be increasing the production of the SNES Classic Edition and the NES Classic Edition will be getting another production run. Yay!

More significantly, it has been confirmed, with video evidence, that Mario has nipples.
(Also, Photo mode in Super Mario Odyssey.)

(Also, Photo mode in Super Mario Odyssey.) And body builder King Dedede. The Direct was drivel otherwise. Odyssey looks great, none of the other stuff was essential or remotely interesting.

Re: the Switch, I honestly don't care about anything other than Odyssey right now. My PS3 and Wii U catalogue can keep me busy while Nintendo fleshes out its lineup. I'm sure I'll put a ton of time into Odyssey, trying to find every last moon. Man, that tropical kingdom looked glorious. So many games aim for photo-realistic graphics, and sacrifice artistry and inventiveness in the process.

So many games aim for photo-realistic graphics, and sacrifice artistry and inventiveness in the process. It doesn't really bother me either; I'll hold out on a Switch for a good long while. Still, it's somewhat disappointing, considering how many games they used to make back in the GameCube days. Odyssey looks like it could be one of the best games ever at least, kind of like Breath of the Wild. So, two absolute behemoths, and a bunch of decent ones. I guess it could be worse. But still, where's my Luigi's Mansion 3? (Probably in purgatory, like Paper Mario 3 and Animal Crossing Switch.)
