Kind of, but not moreso than any other super popular nerd craze, I don't think. I mean, I haven't been able to go anywhere without hearing Game of Thrones mentioned for the last five years.

But Game of Thrones is the most popular drama series worldwide. So it makes a bit more sense, there. But hey, people love their cult hits.

I'm a little astonished by how popular Rick and Morty has become on the Internet, especially given that it's a cartoon on Adult Swim that has aired a grand total of 22 episodes. I suppose it resonates with people because it does a great job of tapping into their inner nerd.
(Either that, or we just really love to say "Wubba lubba dub dub!")

I would suspect it has probably more to do with tapping into our generation's confrontation with nihilism--post-modernism. As an outsider, I find the show slightly ugly and worry about Dan Harmon's mental health a little lol (I still love the show though). (Either that, or we just really love to say "Wubba lubba dub dub!") Yeah and probably that.

"Rickmancing the Stone" was definitely a step down from "The Rickshank Rickdemption", but still really good. The Mad Max therapy session part really worked for me, but it needed way more laughs for me to call it peak Rick and Morty. Still, the focus on the way the family dealt with the divorce was really strong. Not to mention Jerry himself reaching new levels of inadequacy.

I enjoyed it. But they'd might as well change the title to Rick and Morty and Summer at this point.

Also, I could tell it was the first ever female writer on Rick and Morty (pretty crazy) because the focus you mentioned also extended to Beth and Summer, in a way I don't think any other episode has done. Dan Harmon said that'll continue throughout the season, which is very cool imo.

I found the main story in "Pickle Rick" to ultimately be less compelling than the therapy subplot. The pickle story felt a bit too much lick typical R&M wackiness (albeit with more violence), but the subplot had some great interaction between the Smith family. Plus it also had "Racist name, by the way."

My only major quibble was with the end tag-it feels like they just wasted an awesome episode right there! We need an episode about Concerto.
