Yeah, but you can only carry 9999 coins, and the most expensive costume costs that, thus resetting your counter to zero.

Yes, when I bought some of the costumes, I went back to zero coins, then got more and continued buying things. I'm not sure what it is you find to be unusual about what I said?
EDIT: Oh, also, I didn't get 999 moons, I just got all the ones listed on the pause menu, which is around 830 or so. To get more than that, you'd have to spend tons of coins to buy moons from the shops, which I didn't see any point in doing.

You don't get the final, ultimate ending if you don't have 999. Anyways, that answers the question as to why you didn't keep running out of coins.

Well, great, looks like I need almost 17,000 coins then. Not sure I'll bother.

Haha, my OCD got the better of me on that one. Anyways, you can just watch the thing at Peach's castle on YouTube.
BTW, which power moons gave you the most trouble? Three of the Dark Side ones (Piranhas/invisible platforms without Cappy, Banzai Bill/eight long jumps without Cappy, and P-switch run without the scooter) were pretty tough for me, and I used Assist Mode on Darker Side, because I grew impatient with there being no checkpoints. I also exploited that floating camera glitch on the Jump Rope Challenge (I could never get past 60 the traditional way), and controlled Cappy in 2-player mode for the Volleyball Challenge.

I used two-player with Cappy for the Volleyball game as well once I found out you could do it that way, I tried many times normally and never got past 85. I also used assist mode on the Darker Side after failing many times at the pointy-beak bird part. I failed a lot at the Dark Side challenges, but got them before spending too much time. The most challenging part for me wasn't anything mechanical, but just finding where a lot of them were or figuring out what to do to get them to appear.

I think the kingdom with the best-hidden moons was probably Wooded, though some of the ones in Bowser's Kingdom were tough to track as well.

Huh. Bandai Namco is developing Metroid Prime 4. Well, let's hope it goes better than previous out-of-house licensing of Mario and The Legend of Zelda...

Didn't Capcom do Zelda: The Minish Cap, which was well-liked?

"Well excuuuuuuuuuse me..." Have you realized that the "We Are Number One" meme is basically an I.M. Meen revival? Like how doge is a 2010's equivalent of lolcatz.

"Well excuuuuuuuuuse me..." Have you realized that the "We Are Number One" meme is basically an I.M. Meen revival? Like how doge is a 2010's equivalent of lolcatz. I recognized doge was a form of lolcatz at the time, but the other two I'm unfamiliar with entirely. I feel like I'm only peripherally aware of most memes these days although the dude that made "The End of the World" did end up making a sequel fifteen years later because hey nuclear war, still relevant. I was just jumping in with a reference to the rather bad Legend of Zelda cartoon series as a riff off the earlier CD-i commentary. If you were making some other reference in response to the CD-i, it sailed over my head.

"Looks can be deceiving" is my misquoting a line from the first level of Hotel Mario. "Looks are deceiving when Koopas are involved!" I.M. Meen is an infamously terrible edutainment game about an evil librarian that gets lumped in with CD-i games because... well... look for yourself. "We Are Number One" is a song from the children's show LazyTown which became a meme that cured cancer (literally, look it up). ... Yes, my adolescent years matched up exactly with the golden age of Youtube poop, how did you tell
