I rarely watch films in their opening weekend (especially during a holiday weekend), but I saw Happy Death Day and decided to write a full-fledged review while it was hot. Especially since the Film section needs (and will soon receive) more love.

First, I apologize for keeping that baby-faced killer pic on the site's front page for over a week. If it made you feel like the killer was stalking you, you're not alone. But to cheer you up, here's my review of the great Planet of the Apes trilogy! I hope you enjoy OH GOD I THINK HE'S UPSTAIRS

Pixar's got a new film coming out this week. So what better time to look back at its previous film, and the trilogy it concluded? (At least I hope it's a trilogy. I don't need a Cars 4.)

Happy Black Friday, everyone! As you may know, I have a tradition of spending this day by locking my doors and windows and not coming out until the Best Buy insanity alms down. This naturally gave me plenty of time to write a review of the new film Coco, and why it has me concerned for the future of Pixar.

Oscar-nominated films are often long. Very long. That's why I've written about the short films instead. Well, at least the animated ones.

So to get this straight, the person reviewing a show which runs well over 100 hours is complaining about Oscar movies for sometimes stretching to 2.5.

We went over this a few times on the old forum. TV shows are easy to digest because they're split into bite-size chunks. Oscar-level films (which can often be around the three-hour mark) can drag at times because they try to sustain one story for multiple hours.
(And as I've also repeatedly stated, this is also why the "our TV show is an X-hour movie" line of thinking is dumb.)

This year marks the 20th anniversary of DreamWorks! Well, sort of. I mean, it's been 20 years since their first film. I mean, their first animated film. Y'know, feature-length. Um. Look, I just wanted to list my Top 10 favorites. Sue me.

Have you ever wondered what a Christian pop song and a gay teenager have in common? The answer is nothing. Or at least, it was until this past weekend. My latest.

As promised, here are my 10 picks for the all-time worst animated DreamWorks films. If you're planning to torch me over any of my selections, better wait till tomorrow. It'll be more special.

Given the source material, Home should have its share of fans, at least in theory: an incredibly unambiguous metaphor for the Trail of Tears with a black girl as the lead? Wow! I don't know whether it's impressive or unsurprising that the film is... not that.

Even from the trailer, I could tell that Home didn't have nuance or metaphor on its mind. It's more interested in making really broad jokes and giving innocent parents a headache.
But I'll at least give it props for having a black female lead, which is pretty rare for kids' animation.
